  10. Dishonored

http://www.dishonored.com/#/home Noticed this for the first time on a Steam ad. Turns out it's released mid next month. Official trailer: The videos of this game are reminding me of a LOT of good games, all rolled into one, but the models and blood are making it look a little tacky... There's also a big kerfuffle about the DLC's available. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YcD28sNiB0w&feature=related Just from these videos, the games that came to mind: Assassin's Creed, Bioshock, Prototype, Thief, Dues Ex, Half Life 2 amongst others. Looks like it could be good
  11. Windows 8 Consumer Preview

So Windows 8 Consumer Preview came out last week and so far i think it's rather impressive. Link to download and info: http://www.nokia.com/au-en/products/phone/n9-00/ If you've tried the Developer preview you might already know the jist, but the CP is much more advanced and more user friendly. There are still a few little bugs, but nothing out of the ordinary for a beta. Has anyone else tested it out?? I've got a shitty Leader Slate12 Windows tablet, which is the perfect test mule. (1.67Ghz Atom, 2GB RAM, 32GB SSD) Pro's - Intuitive - If you've seen the Meego OS, it's pretty much exactly the same as that. If you haven't check out a video about the Nokia N9: http://www.nokia.com/au-en/products/phone/n9-00/ - Easy to use across on both touch and desktop.. or both! - Internet Exporer 10 (metro) is a much bigger improvement on IE9 as far as speed and usability goes. - Start screen is almost as customizable as Android. I'm sure this is something that will improve with apps etc on official release. Cons - W8 Display is still more like a UI overlay - Still need to use the "Desktop" display for apps that haven't been made compatible with W8 display. i.e. Chrome, MS Office 2010 (although shortcuts are automatically created on the Start screen) - IE10 still not compatible with flash, right click on touch screen doesn't work easily - Minimal Driver support, but most Win7 drivers will work in the "Desktop view". - App loading is slow - Minimal apps on release All in all i think Microsoft have finally brought out a serious competitor to Apple and Google. Even though i'm still an Android fanboy, Windows 8 will seriously kick some arse. Windows 8 is like a cross between Win7, iPads/iOS and Android4.0. The only downside is the specs needed to run Win8 well is still quite high. With current technology, this will not be a problem though. Can it please everyone? I believe so.
