  1. Hey guys, thought I'd start a build thread more for myself to keep track of my progress with the car and post results of mods verified at the track with times, dyno sheets etc. On the weekend I picked up a 100% stock (down to the headunit) S15 Spec S Silvia. I had a few specifications for the car when looking and they was that it had to be Blue, stock or as close to as possible, non-sunroof and straight. The car I picked is a one owner Blue, Spec S, automatic, Australian delivered 2002 S15. It has 180,000kms, the interior is in very good condition, the engine seems in good condition and the exterior is in average/good condition. I paid $8000 for the car however it is in Perth and I am in Adelaide so the car is currently on a truck on it's way here. The flights to Perth were $500 and the truck to get it here was $400. I bought the car from a 65 year old lady who was the first owner in 2002 and bought it as a midlife crisis (her explaination). I don't have any great photos of it but I will upload some as soon as it gets here and try to keep the thread updated as I do things to the car or as the car goes to the track. My plan for the car is to run a basic setup and try to get as much time out at the track as possible, the car will be used for grip and not drift so progress should be easy to see in the form of track times at my local track, Mallala. For now, here are some photos I have of the car that I got sent before I flew to Perth to view it.

  6. It is time for me to upgrade to a larger car so up for sale is my beloved manual 2003 track model 350z with APS twin turbo kit. The car has full log books, serviced every 4-5000kms. The car recently had a tune by Paden at Unique Automotive and made 296rwkw (have dyno papers) it also great on fuel, does 9L/100km on freeway and about 11L/100km urban. The car is amazing to drive, the exhaust is quiet under normal driving conditions but when you open it up, it really sounds amazing, the suspension wont break your back but are firm enough to tackle any corner. Price: $25,000 ONO Registration expires February 2015. No low ballers please, I am not in a rush to sell. Performance and Handling: APS twin turbo kit APS upgraded intake plenum APS 7L sump APS Strut bar Mocal thermostatic oil cooler ASI 52mm radiator 150 CPI high flow catalytic converters Mishimoto lower temp thermostat Hi power dual 2.5” exhaust K sport Coilovers Lightened flywheel and Exedy brass button clutch OEM track model Brembos Exterior: Amuse front bar Nismo rear pods 18 x 10 +15 Lenso D1R Eye lids Tinted windows Interior Homelink rear view mirror (auto dimming and control garage doors) 7” Sony DVD with Bluetooth and GPS 7” Touch screen Car Computer (stores 6000 songs and 2000 video clips) with internet connectivity, modified to neatly fit into top cabin 12” JBL subwoofer in custom subwoofer enclosure tuned to 32 Hz (*pictured is an Alpine Type X subwoofer) 1000 watts mono block Apexi turbo timer Defi Boost Gauge I'm currently looking for a 2005+ European SUV, so only considering swaps with vehicles which fit that criteria, cash either way, preferable Mercedes-Benz ML W164. Thanks in advance!
  10. I've been checking out a lot of the circuit orientated builds on here lately and figured its at least time to put up a link and some basic info to my 180sx build in progress. The plan started out simple enough to have a mild powered dedicated circuit s chassis but soon got out of hand on the fabrication front. So now its a lightweight mild horsepowered build that I hope to run in supersprints, door to door events such as iRace and some hill climbs too. http://www.facebook.com/ProFab180sx

  13. more tracks in sydney

Hi everybody, I very quick background on me. I live in the Sydney area, I don’t drive a jdm car and I’m a noob to drifting. I know the following may sound far fetch but the internet has helped countries overthrow governments and make 20 year olds billionaires, all I want is some more race tracks in Sydney and I think people power is the way to do it! There is many a debate on the drifting scene/culture in Australia and its future, lack of growth, no money etc…. I believe that in Sydney especially, the key to growing this sport is track time and venues which we lack both. The more tracks and track time we have, the more people will see and the more people will do. I know individuals and clubs are working on fixing this and that’s great but what if we think outside the box and keep everyone in the loop there will be more chance in making something happen. Some very valid points have been brought up on the ‘keep drifting fun’ thread. So this is my idea. We identify areas where drifting can take place which is mainly large car parks and public venues. We approach the council and see what is involved in getting approval for a very basic ‘car show’ setup which eventually turns into small drift circuit. Sydney Olympic park has huge baron car parks with no visible public neighbours. We set up a night or day event (does not matter) day may be easier due to noise restrictions. All we need is a vacant car park with temporary barriers and good organisation and we are away. they do it all over the world, why cant we do it here. This event would need to take place at least once a week, which would then create a known hangout, which would then create an identity, which would then create a culture etc etc etc. I am not talking about creating a big sponsored pro event, i am talking about track time, keeping it fun and getting more people into it. WSID has a weekly event for drag racing and that has only expanded the sport. Now I know I just made it sound easy in a simple paragraph and I understand there would be a number of difficulties in creating such an event (insurance, on site ambulance etc) but I don’t believe it would be impossible and at the end of the day we have to start somewhere, so if this thread gets shut down in two posts or something actually amounts from it at least we tried. even if we at least get a weekly event at eastern creek that would be a starting point. What I am asking for in this thread is some constructive criticism and valid point to actually making something like this happen or working on creating something similar, we can identify the hurdles and work on how we fix them. We can then use the resources we have together to make shit happen and get track time! I know all the haters and emo children out there will now be licking their lips waiting to grill me but imagine if it worked….. The main objective here is more track time and a familiar local place to build this sport, if we can create this I believe that it would definitely expand the sport. So where do you think we should start……….

  16. Mallala Motorbike Come'n'Try day!

Hey Guys, The first round of the SA Championship (Motorbike Racing) is coming up. The event is held over the weekend from 26th to 27th of May. The Saturday is a practice day for all the riders. The club running the event, Cafe Racers, also runs a rider race training school on this Saturday called Kneescrapers Training. At the Kneescrapers training, you start in the class room where they explain all the basics of track racing and setting up your bike. That finishes quite early and you are all let onto the track with the instructors to get a feel for it. For the rest of the day you alternate between the track and the classroom running through the individual corners, bike setup, body position, safety. You get heaps of free track time to just go for it. If you're not interested in doing the kneescraper training, you dont have to. Just sign up for the practice day and you're out on the track. The saturday will most likely consist of 4 seperate groups where only one group is on track at any time. The groups would be: -Professional -Amateur -Novice -Kneescrapers Training If you decide that you loved the training day and want to enter one of the races on Sunday, then it's as easy as putting your name down. On Sunday, the following classes will be racing: -Steve Martin Cup - A and B grade racer championship. Any Bike, Unlimited Mods -Reece Bancell Cup - C and D grade racer championship. Any bike, any mod. -Limited - 2 Strokes, Historics, Small Twins, Juniors etc -C20 - Bikes and mods from the 20th Century (eg. 1999 R6) -Bracket Racing - Amateur Class, Any bikes including road bikes. If you are interested in starting to race, then Bracket Racing is for you. Only Amateur riders are allowed to enter. The races are fun, safe and only 6 laps so you dont need to be super fit. If you are not interested in racing just yet, then still come out for the Sunday (May 27th). It will be a fantastic day. Organised for this event are: -About 30 races -Stunt riders -Nissan GTR vs Yamaha R6 race!!! -Jumping Castle and Facepainting Entry is $10 for spectators. Why should you get out to Mallala? Here is why. Why race through the hills when you can do it legally at Mallala? That is just one of the small benefits. You crash in the hills and you WILL be hitting a guard rail, a stobbie pole, a tree or a car. You're more than likely to be injured, or worse, and your bike is going to be badly damaged from whatever it has hit. The chances of crashing in the hills are so much higher than on the track due to blind corners, unpredictable surface and traffic going in the OPPOSITE direction to you! You crash at the track and 95% of the time, you slide casually off the track and into the soft sand traps. Your bike comes out with scratches down the side, but it's all cosmetics, usually nothing mechanical is damaged. Your chances of crashing on the track are really only limited to how much you want to push it. Bike to bike collisions are rare in races and virtually non-existant in practices. I used to race through the hills with mates, but since I started racing 5 years ago, I've never done that again since. I just don't have a need for it anymore. I get everything out on the racetrack and it is 10x more fun than the hills. Dont believe me? Come try.
