Update on my car!

Finally up and running with new Ikeya Formula quad throttles and TD06 combo.

 

Due for a tune now. Cant wait to see how it goes.

 

where did u get that power steering reservoir ?

I've got the same one on my 34 GTR and they are super rare now

i mounted mine next to my radiator it looks so much better

I got it from japan ages ago. Yes, i know i'm not happy with that positioning either. I'll be fixing that.

Want to get it driving and moving on it's own power first.

Did a dummy fit in my good commodore, all looks good. Easier to fabricate inside and transfer to the wagon outside later.

Johnny: think i'll make 200rwkw on 98 with just a ps1000 and ebc? Engine is just stock s14 with cooler and exhaust otherwise

Blingy will be close, realistically about the 180 to 190kW mark on a Mainline dyno. On a dyno dynamics will read higher.

 

If you pop some Poncams in you might get much closer to 200kW.

 

If you water meth it as it goes onto boost you'll get about 220kW.

 

 

Also why a commodore? Lol you bored!

Yeah cool, it did fine with stock boost/stock computer in my r33 so even 180 will be heaps.

Probs do cams/injectors/td05 or td06 down the track

 

Nah, not bored, just love the beasts. Weigh less than a silvia and the wagon cost me $50 haha bit rusty, but not too bad. the blue one is my first car, has s14 front suspension, and custom 4 link with watts link in the rear. Will end up a hillclimb car i think

If you go water/meth injection you could just keep the injectors as-is.. I would recommend jamming in some S15 injectors (if it isn't already S15 ones).. as they're 450cc and don't mind running at 3.5bar base pressure.

 

BTW.. I can get Nistune shit at under RRP :)

E85 afr's on a track car. what would you aim for, based on petrol scale, not lambda

United E85, no flex.

Once you hit full boost 12.0, as you hit peak torque drop it down 11.5 to 11.7 then once torque drops off taper it back to close to 12.0 afr.

 

Also depends on power and boost. If you're making silly power and shit tonnes of boost drop the peak torque afr down to 11.5 but not under 11.2 E85 will misfire if it gets too rich. Then as torque decays bring it back slowly to 11.8 or so.

They are made by Billion. can still buy them new but not sure for every model

ther were still heap of evo/ wrexy ones in up garages new in box when I was in japan last month

 

MERLZ looks like its missing the bracket to attach it to the car

 

Scored one ona car I stripped and got it powerdercoated..in my sil80 before I got rid of that :/

There are copies out there that look decent. Not sure whether there's any internal difference (like baffles) between these and the original jap-brand unit though:

Nice work dose man. Good to see you had the torque reading set to derived torque on some of those graphs. Can compare torque to other results without having to do some fucked up math bullshit. I wish every cunt using a mainline would do that. Would also stop other cunts from going around saying their 300kw shitbox rb20 is making over 1000nm torque, lol. Cunty cunts and ore cunts.

Hey man how much boost was the GTX3071 running? Is there a limit where it stops making power?

I reckon I could have taken it to a little past 2 bar of boost. The motor was still making power with more boost and more timing.

 

Last run had 1.8 bar of boost going into the motor.

 

However the power was getting a little silly and was a little skeptical of strength of that Forced Motorworx motor. It's about 7 years old so didn't want to over do it also it's a 9:1 comp motor.
